Welcome to Ry's Tercel page

The Toyota Tercel is a great car. The ’91 to ’94 model is what I know the best. It’s easy to work on. Parts are relatively cheap. Junkyards usually have 3 or more for parts. And they are cool!

I love it because it's tiny and I can maneuver it through most driving conditions. I can get 39.5 MPG consistently when I drive it like the elderly. I’ve used it to move on several occasions. Its interior is surprisingly large and the back seat can be pulled out to haul furniture or snowboards.

Even though it’s a good car the Tercel is known for the following: inferior engine that burns oil after 100K, go-kart suspension, and four adults make it bottom out.

Other then those problems you have a great, cheap vehicle to maintain. There is a whole network of Tercel Enthusiasts at TercelOnline.com to back me up on this. I learned how to do all the upgrade on the car there. They showed me how to order the Japanese turbo engine, splice the wire harness, and swap out my old junk motor. This takes care of the major issue people have with Tercels… no power. This upgrade took me from 89HP to about 135HP, which is great for a car under one ton.

If by chance you end up owning one you aught to check out TercelOnline.com. Just like any online forum, they’ll teach you wonders.

And that’s all I have to say…
